Interesting article by Barbara Ehrenreich analyzes something those of us from the Caribbean have always known. I always knew that wucking it up & playing mass all over the place had some root in our collective past. All pretenses are dropped around carnival time as folks mix and mingle in an electrifying, cathartic ritual celebrating something vital yet unnameable.
